Replication and transfer plan

Expanding the impact of NewLIFE4BioIslands beyond the project intervention areas is a central objective of the replication and transfer strategy. This task will promote the uptake of the project’s restoration model in other Mediterranean and environmentally comparable regions, supporting the wider application of biodiversity island restoration and nature-based solutions.

The main actions include:

• Identification of replication opportunities: Assessment of suitable regions and ecosystems where the project’s restoration approach can be adapted and implemented under similar ecological and climatic conditions.
• Demonstration activities and field visits: Organisation of site visits, demonstration events, and knowledge-sharing activities for public authorities, land managers, researchers, and conservation organisations.
• Policy integration: Promotion of the incorporation of successful restoration approaches into regional, national, and European conservation and restoration policies.
• Knowledge transfer and capacity building: Development of technical training activities, guidance materials, and knowledge exchange platforms to support practitioners and decision-makers.
• Restoration practice standards: Preparation of technical guidance and best-practice standards to facilitate the high-quality implementation and long-term sustainability of future restoration initiatives.

By promoting replication, policy uptake, and knowledge transfer, this task will help ensure that the methods and experience developed by NewLIFE4BioIslands contribute to large-scale biodiversity restoration across Mediterranean and other climate-vulnerable landscapes.
